Product Description
Recipient of a 2008 CES Innovations Award, the PXAMG is the first interface ever to bring the iPod™, HD Radio™ broadcasting, and many other portable media products into the vehicle.
The PXAMG also brings the power of HD Radio broadcasting with the help of the HD Radio Tuner (HDRT). Available separately, the HDRT gives users more channels, more content, in exciting new formats—all with no subscription fees.
The PXAMG directly connects your iPod to your radio allowing you to browse your music, by Artist, Album, Genre, and Playlist from the radio controls. The interface is expandable, by adding the HDRT you will receive digital radio stations that can not be received with a standard tuner. Experience HD Radio and hear FM in CD quality, and AM at FM quality!
Allows connection of any two devices: iPod cable, AUX cable, SCC1 Satellite Tuner (sold seperately) or HD Radio Tuner (sold seperately).

Perfect for 2006 Honda Pilot w/o navi, July 16, 2011

I purchased and installed this product from Best Buy, and it was relatively easy, in comparison to a custom system. So I would definitely encourage others to buy it solely based on the ease of instillation. Secondly, I had trouble getting my factory deck to recognize the module so I decided to email iSimple. Someone from tech support immediately responded with some helpful advice. Then, I had to disconnect the battery for something else and again had a bear of a time getting the deck to recognize the module and thus the iPhone. So, this second time around I called and spend about 15-20 minutes with someone with tech support and received answers to all of the questions I had. They are extremely knowledgeable about their products and very helpful. Their customer service is great, and their product is great. If I were to get picky and have a complaint, it's that using the plugin you can't actually make a phone call. The ipod doesn't pause, and the phone call isn't ran through the stereo. However, if you use the 3.5mm jack, it will, but then you loose charging capability, but then you can just plug in both cables, but get the factory receiver to recognize the headphone jack first. It's really a great product.

troubles with Acura TL with Navigation, June 27, 2011
I installed the Isimple myself, it was relatively easy. The actual music function and controls work well and are easy once you get used to them. The only problem that I am having is that the iphone music stops when you originate a call with the factory HandsFreeLink, however once the call starts to ring the music starts back up and plays through the speakers in the background of the call. The only way to stop this is to unplug the Iphone. I have updated both the iphone and the firmware and neither has solved the problem. I have seen numerous posts in forums where others are having the exact same problem. I mailed the support and they say the update will solve it, the problem is still there and they have no answer. The system works well except this glitch. It is a relatively small annoyance but you should be aware of this before you buy.

Worked well for me, June 12, 2011
I have a 2004 Accord with Navi and did a self install. There are cryptic instructions for navigating the menus and you must use the "Audio" screen for that navigation. Skipping ahead (fast forward by first letter) is not available, so finding a particular artist, for example, can be quite a task for some high capacity devices, like my 160GB iPod.
I had to take the top of the dash off to expose the plug for the Gateway. A little intimidating, but once done, easy! I installed both the iPod interface the the standard 3/8" audio plug. The unused audio plug landed in the gearshift path and with one motion going into park, the tip jammed and snapped off. Oh well, it wasn't really needed anyway. The whole install took a couple of hours and there are good instructions with pictures on the 'net.
Overall, works great, beats the sound quality offered by the FM radio interface.
I'm here today to look into the cell phone Bluetooth interface!

Good Sound, Not so good controls and documentation, March 24, 2011

I give the product a 5 for sound quality but a 1 for ease of use and documentation. I have a 2007 Honda Accord with 6 disc changer, integrated temperature controls but w/o navigation.
Best Buy did the install and they did a good job but iSimple provides no documentation on how the product works with the 2007 Accord Factory Radio! So, I spend hours working all the button combinations to figure out how to select through the menu's on the ipod using the radio controls. How dumb is that? They provide "cheat sheet" cards for every other type of car with the manuals but, nothing for the Accord. There is a manual for how to use the control for a Honda, but it is not the radio I have, and the same controls don't work. For instance, the manual says "turn selector wheel" - but, there is no "selector wheel" on my factory Honda Radio.
So, now that I have it figured out... "press preset 6 for that, scan for that, channel up down for that etc... " it is fine in terms of operation and it sounds very good. But come on iSimple!!! Get some decent instructions!!!!!

Solid product, February 28, 2011

I bought this and had it installed by BestBuy for my 2004 Honda Accord EX (with Navigation). I was a bit nervous buying it since my plan was to use it with my iPhone 4 and the box doesn't say whether it supports it (only up to 3GS). But everything seems to work fine so far.
Here's how it works once installed:
- You can have two cables attached to the unit (which is hidden underneath the radio). One cable to plug into your iphone/ipod which also charges the device and another RCA cable to plug into the phone's headphone input.
- These two cables give you three "modes" to choose from within the nav screen: aux1, aux2 and iPod.
When in aux1 mode, you plug in your iphone using the iphone cable (plugs into bottom of phone). In this mode you can play music by using your phone or via the steering wheel controls or via the on-screen controls (i.e. go to next/previous track, change volume, select playlist, etc). However, in this mode, you don't see any track info.
In aux2 mode, you connect your iphone via headphone jack. Obviously, you wont get any steering wheel or in-dash controls, etc. Its as if you simply plugged in any generic audio device.
In iPod mode, you plug in your iphone the same way as aux1. In this mode, you *cannot* control your iphone at all. You get full steering wheel and in-dash controls *AND* track info on your NAV screen.
Unfortunately, the in-dash interface is pretty cryptic. If you use the onscreen buttons on your NAV to select music, you get a few options to "browse" for tracks to play via playlists, genres, album, or composer. And you can use your knobs to forward through the list to find a song pretty quickly.
The response time using the nav screen or steering wheel controls (whether in aux1 or iPod mode) is pretty fast.. I'd say about a 1 second delay before a song begins to play.
I plan on keeping my iphone in aux1 - seems to be the best of both worlds. I can use my iphone's interface (that we all know and love) to choose a playlist and still be able to skip tracks via the steering wheel controls.
The price includes installation and took the tech about an hour and half. On the Accord, you have a couple of options on where the cables can come out:
- The middle console (behind your parking brake)
- The storage area underneath your radio
He will have to drill a small hole to get the cable through either way. The labor is also covered by warranty for life.
